James “Rick” Dozier

Rick was born and raised in Florida and graduated from Marianna High School in 1991 where he graduated with honors, was a member of the Beta Club, National Honor’s Society, wrestling team, and band. Rick received his B.A. degree from the Florida State University and taught high school mathematics and coached wrestling until making the decision to return to law school. Rick earned his Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University College of Law. After graduating from law school, Rick’s love of wrestling continued and he began refereeing both the high school and Olympic styles of wrestling. Rick also serves as a board member of USA Wrestling’s Florida chapter, known as Florida Amateur Wrestling Association, Inc. Rick is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar, and initially served as an Assistant State Attorney, prosecuting a variety of serious felony cases. As a former assistant state attorney, Rick quickly established himself as a confident and capable trial lawyer and in 2007 he entered practice with William "Bill" J. Grant. Rick’s practice areas are criminal defense, family law, and personal injury. He presently focuses on defending individuals who have been charged with criminal matters ranging from traffic offenses, such as DUI, to drug trafficking and murder. Rick is especially well known for representing parties involved in divorce and child custody matters and he constantly battles DCF. Rick prides himself on aggressive representation. Rick is married and spends most of his spare time actively involved with his wife and children.
